National Doctor’s Day
National Doctor’s Day is observed on July 1 to honor the country’s doctors and healthcare professionals who are committed to saving and bettering lives. The day celebrates doctors and their commitment to their profession.
The Indian Government officially declared National Doctor’s Day as July 1 in 1991. The decision was made in order to celebrate the birth anniversary Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, a renowned physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal.2
This year’s theme for National Doctor’s Day is “Celebrating Resilience and Healing Hands”.

- It is a day to appreciate people who believe that “Each Life Matters” and relentlessly strive towards saving lives
- It is important that we not only recognize their ceaseless efforts but also inspire others towards the same
Students of grades IX.XI visited Gleneagles Global Hospital to express their gratitude and appreciation to the medical fraternity .Mr V. Bhaskar Reddy Head – Corporate Relations gave a presentation about the hospital Facilities , motivated students and gave an awareness as to why the Doctors profession is one of the noblest professions. They were also taken on a tour of the hospital to understand the latest advancements in the medical field and also an awareness of the various career options available . It was a day of worth as students understood the magnanimity of the profession .
In a conversation with a Doctor , we had Dr Arthy Murthy , BDS, MHP, Dentist and mind and body fitness coach and Gut Health advisor addressing the middle / high school students with an interactive session on adopting a healthy lifestyle and making it a habit from their school days. She created an awareness on the Health, Hygiene and Stress Management .She enabled the children to know the real meaning of : ‘SMILE, FOOD & HAPPINESS’ and to live by them.
